Why I went home

Recently I've had a lot more time to reflect on what matters. Home and family are so important in these times. Recently I went back to where I grew up: Willisville, population 152.

I drove by my old high school, the mall, and where I used to live. I saw my longtime friend Paula who runs Odell & Paula's Willisville Mall. Their food was just as good as ever, and I was glad to give them my business in these difficult times.

Going back brought up so many memories. Growing up wasn't easy, but being there made me ever more grateful for all those who helped me get to where I am today.

It may not always feel like it, but we're still a community. I encourage you to check in with your people—friends from home, the old neighborhood, and anyone you haven't heard from in a while. Paula appreciated it when I came to see her, and I'm sure your people will too.

As your public servant, I want to hear from you. I'd love to hear the good, but please do not hesitate to share the bad as well. The more I know, the more I can help.

Thank you for your continued support of the campaign.
